When I met SHINee live - Worth the wait

SHINee is a five-member South Korean boy group. I was introduced to them when they sang one of the official soundtracks of the famous Korean drama series, Boys Over Flowers. I didn't like them at first but I fell in love with them after all.

SHINee is one of the most legendary groups of Kpop. They've been in the industry for nine years, yet they still top the charts. They are also well known to deliver great live vocal and dance performances. They are the total package.

I want to tell you about the time I saw SHINee perform live. It was the most emotional night of my life.

Beginning of this year, a producer announced that a joint concert will happen in the Philippines. Luckily, SHINee was one of the groups to perform. I promised myself that when I start working, I'll make sure to attend the concerts I missed so I took that chance.

I haven't slept the night before the concert, that's how excited I was. We went there very early to line up for the perk which was an epic fail but that's another story.

We were standing, lining up, running, and we didn't even have a proper meal throughout the day, but thank God for adrenaline.

When the concert started, Minho, one of the members of SHINee had his first appearance because he was the host. I sobbed when I saw him because he is my bias. Bias means he is your favorite among of the group. Other groups who also belonged in my fandom list performed. B.A.P, B1A4, AOA, CNBlue, BTOB, even PSY was there.

When I saw SHINee on stage, I was speechless. I kept asking myself if it was real. Am I finally seeing them with my own eyes? Is it them? They performed their top hits and spoke with their fans. SHINee is well known for delivering great vocal & dance performances so seeing that with my own eyes was surreal.

While they were singing a ballad song, the whole arena was crying and sobbing, and I felt them as I was sobbing too. We have been waiting for them for so long and it was so worth it. They were very angelic, the way they sang, even the way they stand. I loved how they connected with the fans, how they made their fans feel that waiting for them was worth it. Though it was a very short moment as they only performed four songs, that's more than what we could ask for as they rarely go to my country.

What I also loved about that day is I got to be with my new friends, the same fans who have been waiting for them for long.

The body aches, rumbling stomach, legs, and feet full of sore didn't matter. The moment mattered.

My final message to SHINee is, I will always be supporting each of you no matter what happens. I may stan different artists but you will always be my main group. You have given me happiness through your music, performances and crazy personalities. You don’t know how many lives you’ve been saving because of your music and crazy personalities. Your Filipino fans will always wait for a solo concert.
